Hand Rolled Cigarette is a powerful narrative about two individuals struggling against the backdrop of societal neglect. We meet a retired British-Chinese soldier, grappling with the silent echoes of his past and the profound isolation of a world that has moved on without him. His solitary existence takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a marginalized young South Asian man, adrift and facing the stark realities of abandonment and prejudice.

Initially wary, an unlikely and profound connection slowly blossoms between them. Through shared moments and the quiet ritual of a hand-rolled cigarette, they begin to see their own struggles reflected in the other. This film charts their poignant journey as they confront their shared plight, discovering resilience and a surprising sense of kinship.
