Description:

"Gull" plunges into the tumultuous life of Obok, a fishmonger grappling with immense pressure. Her eldest daughter's upcoming marriage to an educated, well-off young man should be a cause for joy, yet Obok is anything but happy. She navigates the oppressive heat, her daughter's materialism, her mother's dementia, and her husband's drinking, all while facing the impending gentrification of her beloved food market. These cumulative burdens push Obok to a breaking point, prompting her to reveal a devastating secret to her daughter: she was raped by a fellow stallholder. This man is ironically the very person organizing other traders against their landlords. Fuelled by increasing fury and a profound distrust of the useless police, Obok embarks on a relentless quest for personal justice, prepared to confront her tormentor physically to reclaim her dignity and settle the score.
