Description:

In the gripping suspense drama Godan, Makita Takahiro, a public relations officer at Japan's Nagawara Seiyaku pharmaceutical company, witnesses a tragic railway suicide. Soon after, Vice President Anjo Takao reveals a devastating truth: the suicide is linked to one of their manufactured drugs. Takahiro is assigned to work discreetly with the police to avoid ruinous publicity that could kill an essential merger saving the financially troubled firm. Sworn to absolute secrecy, Takahiro cannot even share his burden with his fiancee, Morita Mayumi, who is Anjo's secretary. When the autopsy confirms the drug's presence, Anjo orders Takahiro to negotiate a quiet, out-of-court settlement with the victim's grieving family. Torn between his moral duty to the public and loyalty to his employer, Takahiro seeks guidance from company lawyer Takafuji Tatsumi. Will Takahiro abandon his conscience to protect the company's survival? Based on the novel by Dōba Shunichi, Godan is a thrilling corporate mystery.
