"Food Luck!" follows Yoshito, whose cherished childhood revolved around his mother Yasue's beloved yakiniku restaurant, a legacy from his late father. Their popular eatery faced devastation when prominent food critic Furuyama Tatsuya published false, damaging statements, causing a severe customer drop. Despite Yasue's desperate fight to recover, Yoshito's attention-seeking behavior prompted her to shut down the business entirely. Eighteen years later, a solitary Yoshito works as a freelance writer. He joins a new online foodie website, collaborating with editor Takenaka Shizuka. Their initial assignment, ironically, centers on yakiniku, stirring old memories. This challenging task coincides with the alarming news that his estranged mother, Yasue, has suddenly collapsed. The film explores themes of regret, reconciliation, and the enduring power of food and family, as Yoshito revisits his past and the restaurant's legacy.
