Following the sudden death of his mother, 12-year-old Jaya, played by Iqbal S. Manurung, is sent to live with his father, Johar, played by Didi Petet. Johar works as a supervisor on a jermal, a traditional fishing platform perched on fragile log stilts in the middle of the sea. The isolated fishing platform becomes the setting for a tense and emotional reunion between a grieving boy and an estranged father. Johar, hardened by years of grueling work, is unprepared for fatherhood and struggles to accept the boy. Meanwhile, Jaya must adapt to the harsh, dangerous environment of the jermal while coping with his loss. Surrounded by the endless ocean, both father and son are forced to confront their past.
