Description:

Fiction & Other Realities tells the story of Bobby Choy, a Korean American living in New York City who struggles with feeling like an outsider in his birth country. Following his father’s passing, Bobby finds solace in composing melancholic songs, often practicing softly in his bathtub to avoid disturbing his mother in their shared apartment. His friend Billy, lead singer for the band Paper Kings, presents him with an unexpected offer: a roadie position for their upcoming tour, which notably includes a stop in Seoul, South Korea. Initially hesitant about leaving his mother and his familiar world, Bobby weighs the decision at his telemarketing job. He eventually accepts, driven by a profound desire to connect with his heritage and learn about his parents' roots. During his journey abroad, he encounters Ina, a vibrant young woman who performs for enjoyment and is currently pursuing her graduate studies, marking a new chapter in his search for identity.
