This powerful connection transports us back to 1997, introducing Elisa, an innocent and naive 15-year-old. She falls deeply in love with Wai, a kind but struggling young man. After moving in together, Elisa gives birth to their daughter. Desperate for money, Wai becomes entangled with the triads, committing a serious crime that forces him to flee Hong Kong, leaving his family to face a harsh world alone. When Wai eventually returns, his inability to truly rejoin their lives poisons the family with resentment, culminating in a devastating and tragic outcome.
