Description:

Durr-e-Shehwar explores the intricate dynamics of marriage and family across generations. Shandana, grappling with a significant breach in her eight-year marriage to Haider, retreats to her maternal home in Murree with her young daughter, contemplating divorce and battling semidepression. She resents her mother, DurreShehwar, believing she led a blissfully simple life with Mansoor, often unfavorably comparing Haider to her father. Mansoor’s distressed intervention further escalates tensions within the family.

Witnessing Shandana’s despair, DurreShehwar finally reveals her own arduous past. She narrates her challenging early marriage, marked by a cold mother-in-law and Mansoor’s initial disregard, exposing a life far from the easy existence Shandana imagined.
