Description:

Dr. Koto Shinryojo chronicles the unexpected new chapter in the life of talented surgeon Goto Kensuke. Following a serious professional error during his time in Tokyo, Kensuke accepts an invitation to oversee the only medical clinic on the remote island of Yonaguni Okinawa. This isolated community has long struggled to attract competent doctors, forcing its residents to undertake hours-long boat journeys for adequate medical attention.

Initially, Kensuke appears ill-suited for the demanding island life, suffering from severe seasickness and lacking a driving license, which fuels skepticism among the islanders. However, his extraordinary medical skill and profound dedication to their health gradually win over the wary community. A pivotal moment occurs when local children, in a gesture of welcome, create a flag for his clinic but misspell his name. From that point forward, the respected doctor is affectionately known by everyone on the island simply as Koto.
