Description:

"I Don’t Fire Myself" follows Jeong Eun, a technical administrator confronting severe gender discrimination in her workplace. Rather than a coveted assignment, she faces a disheartening dispatch to a subcontractor, where she endures blatant pressure to resign. Determined to protect her vested rights and return to the head office, Jeong Eun commits to holding out. However, working on immense transmission towers for the subcontractor introduces a new layer of challenges and dual discrimination. Initially, Jeong Eun struggles to adapt, often arriving at work drunk or asserting her status as a prime contractor employee. The film powerfully captures her journey as she gradually embraces the demanding work out of pride and forges genuine human connections with her new coworkers. Through these bonds, those who once saw her as a nuisance begin to accept her, allowing Jeong Eun to ultimately discover her identity as both a resilient woman and a valuable subcontractor worker.
