The television series D.I.E. (Death Investigation Extension) centers on a unique police department established for sidelined officers sent away by their supervisors. Tasked with solving cold cases, the unit welcomes Yue Chilong, a clever investigator who possesses extraordinary extrasensory abilities. Chilong hopes for a quick promotion, but upon realizing his boss is years away from retirement, he resolves to crack as many complex cases as possible to escape the department. Along the way, he clashes with Ying Chingching, a tough and uncompromising new appointee. Despite their constant arguments, Chingching begins to develop feelings for Chilong, finding herself torn between him and her unfaithful boyfriend, Shing Katsun. Meanwhile, Chilong lives with his elder sister, Yue Chiching, and unexpectedly reunites with his long-lost father, Yue Taihoi, during an investigation. As Chingching grows closer to Chilong, he suddenly begins to avoid her. Confused, she investigates his behavior and is shocked to discover that Chilong is being haunted by a female ghost named Siu Sin.
