Description:

Cicadas tells the poignant story of an aging master wholly dedicated to Jindo Dasiraegi, a traditional funeral play. Years after abandoning home, his estranged daughter returns, burdened by significant debt. Her unexpected homecoming reignites a deep-seated animosity, as she bitterly blames her father’s singular devotion to the sacred art for neglecting her mother in her final moments.

Despite his unwavering passion for Dasiraegi, the father’s heart aches for a connection with his daughter, who remains consumed by grief and resentment. This emotional chasm widens, threatening not only their fragile relationship but also the very future of the ancient play he cherishes.
