The coming-of-age drama Bye June follows three close friends facing the bittersweet transition into adulthood just months before their high school graduation. Tragedy strikes when June dies in a devastating fire, leaving his grieving girlfriend Chaeyoung, played by HaNeul Kim, to seek solace with June's close friend Doki, played by Jitae Yu. Doki has secretly loved Chaeyoung for an extended period of time and inches towards revealing his feelings. During an impromptu funeral ceremony for June outside of their high school, Doki and Chaeyoung kiss for the first time. However, it is obvious to Doki that Chaeyoung still thinks of June even when they kiss. The dynamic shifts when two teenagers approach, with one having an uncanny resemblance to June. The four soon-to-be friends then go through an extended period of self-discovery as they experiment with sex and drugs.
