Set in Suphanburi during the reign of Rama V, "Buang Barp" delves into a saga of inheritance, power, and karmic repercussions. Feudal lord Radetmaitri passes on all his vast property, including his slaves, to his only son. This son, a warlord, influenced by foreign political theories, even decrees that the king must govern by good principles. A dramatic oath by Khun Pi is sealed by a sudden lightning strike. Radetmaitri later dies, and his wife returns with a valley, hinting at unseen burdens. The son's claim to legitimacy is intertwined with his father's past and the truth surrounding Empress Manikangwon. Soon after the funeral, the son misuses government resources, despite warnings from the Empress. These transgressions are closely monitored by the royal capital, while a former slave from Radetmaitri's estate is redeemed. An instructor receives a vision of the king's long reign but issues a dire warning against exceeding one's station or defying royal authority, suggesting a destiny caught in a continuous snare of consequences.
