The plot of "Bard of Blood" introduces Kabir Anand, a former Indian Intelligence agent haunted by his partner's death, now living quietly as a literature teacher. His life takes a drastic turn when four Indian intelligence officers are captured by the Taliban. Secret service director Sadiq Sheikh calls upon a reluctant Kabir for a dangerous rescue mission. However, when Kabir finally agrees to undertake the assignment, he arrives to find Sadiq dead, immediately becoming the prime suspect in the murder.

After being interrogated and subsequently released, Kabir follows a crucial lead at Sadiq's cremation, which brings him into contact with analyst Isha Khanna. Together, they decode a hidden message left by Sadiq, revealing an unsanctioned mission into Balochistan. This high-stakes operation requires Kabir, Isha, and a long-serving undercover agent named Veere Singh, who yearns to return home. As the newly formed team embarks on their perilous journey towards Quetta, they encounter numerous challenges, all while intelligence head Arun Joshi learns of their rogue operation and relentlessly tracks their every move.
