Autumn, Autumn presents a heartfelt dual narrative that begins on a train journey. Ji Hyun, after a disheartening job interview in Seoul, is returning to his hometown, his hopes for a career in the city now shattered. Overwhelmed by despair and seeking solace in alcohol, he narrowly escapes a dangerous situation thanks to a friend. Together, they decide to head aimlessly towards Cheongpyeongsa Temple, where an unforeseen overnight stay becomes necessary after missing his last ride home.

Concurrently, a middle-aged couple, sharing the same train and also bound for Cheongpyeongsa Temple, experiences a night of profound connection. They delve into shared memories, recalling their cherished first loves, and find themselves opening up to each other in a dreamlike reverie. As dawn breaks, they board their train back to Seoul. This film beautifully intertwines themes of dashed dreams, unexpected encounters, and the enduring power of memory and love, all set against an autumn backdrop.
