In the poignant drama Asleep, Terako finds herself trapped in a cycle of emotional isolation. Shiori makes a unique living as a soineya, a professional who sells the simple, comforting act of sleeping in the same bed with lonely strangers. However, tragedy strikes when Shiori unexpectedly commits suicide, shattering Terakos fragile world. Devastated by the sudden loss of her closest confidante, Terako is consumed by an overwhelming sense of grief and loneliness. To escape the painful reality of her existence, she retreats into a state of perpetual slumber. As Terako spends more and more time sleeping, the boundaries between her waking life and her dreams begin to blur, forcing her to confront her inner demons and the profound emptiness of her relationship with Iwanaga.
