Description:

Around The Table follows Haruko, a single mother navigating an unconventional home life with her son Riku, her friend Aiko, and Aiko’s boyfriend Sorao. Their unique household dynamic faces a new ripple when Yuko arrives to attend a summer art institute. Yuko is the daughter of Haruko’s old friend, Tomoyo, with whom Haruko shares a deeply uncomfortable past and hasn't spoken to in many years. Tomoyo's sudden outreach, solely to arrange Yuko's stay, immediately signals unresolved history.

As Yuko settles into the bustling house, her presence subtly but surely brings Haruko’s complicated past with Tomoyo to the surface. The summer promises to be a transformative period, forcing Haruko to confront not only the echoes of old friendships and unspoken tensions but also how they impact her present relationships. Surrounded by her chosen family and a visitor who represents a complex chapter, Haruko must navigate the delicate balance of home, healing, and the truths that emerge around the table.
