Hiroshi, a man who runs a charcoal kiln inherited from his father, lives a life marked by indifference. Despite producing high-grade charcoals, his personal world is strained; his wife and rebellious son contend with his emotional detachment. He remains distant from his family, seemingly content in his isolated routine.

His stagnant existence is abruptly shaken by the unexpected return of Eisuke, an ex-friend and former self-defense official, to their hometown. Eisuke's presence acts as a powerful catalyst. As Hiroshi learns more about Eisuke's challenging past, a profound shift occurs within him. This newfound understanding compels Hiroshi to re-evaluate his own life. He makes a conscious decision to embrace his responsibilities, committing to his work with renewed vigor and, more importantly, striving to become a present and engaged husband and father. This transformation marks the beginning of his journey into "Another World," one defined by purpose and connection.
