Description:

After his father's passing, 17-year-old Ali travels from Jakarta to New York City to find his mother, who left when he was five. In a Queens apartment, he encounters a quirky group of Indonesian women – a cleaning lady, a paparazzi, a single mom, and a massage lady – who become his unlikely allies. They help him navigate the city and search for his mother, with Ali even developing a crush on the single mom's daughter.

When Ali finally locates his mother, he discovers she has a new family and is hesitant to acknowledge him. Their attempts to reconnect are fraught with tension, as his mother reveals past misunderstandings and struggles to integrate him into her new life. Feeling betrayed by his new friends and disowned by his mother, Ali faces a profound emotional crisis. Ultimately, he reconciles with the women who first welcomed him, finding a new sense of belonging and understanding before embarking on a new chapter in his life, and his mother privately acknowledges his existence to her new family.
