This film tells the compelling story of a kind-hearted man, abandoned as a child and living with a mental disability. He finds joy working at a local bakery alongside its owner and another mentally challenged girl, who feels like a sister to him. He also attends night classes with other adults facing similar challenges, guided by a dedicated teacher who doubles as their friend.

An exciting opportunity arises when the teacher is approached about a research study aimed at increasing intelligence in the mentally challenged. Initially hesitant, the teacher agrees, moved by the man's profound desire to become smarter, driven by the hope that his estranged mother will then return to him. Following a successful operation, his intelligence rapidly increases. Yet, this newfound mental acuity brings unforeseen complications. He grapples with the complexities of heightened self-awareness, evolving relationships, and a flood of new emotions, forcing him to confront the true meaning of his identity and connection to the world.
