Ah Boys to Men is a comedy-drama that follows Ken Chow, a spoiled and wealthy teenager who is highly reluctant to serve his mandatory National Service in Singapore. Despite his overprotective mother trying to find ways for him to defer, Ken is forced to enlist. He is sent to Pulau Tekong and assigned to Ninja Company under the strict Platoon Sergeant Tosh Zhang, alongside other recruits like Lobang and Aloysius. Ken struggles to adapt, and his situation worsens when his girlfriend, Amy, dumps him. Desperate to win her back, Ken schemes to escape training by inducing a self-inflicted heat injury. However, his reckless plan leads to a medical emergency, causing his father to suffer a stroke and a severe car crash while rushing to the hospital. Waking up to the devastating consequences of his childish actions, Ken undergoes a profound reality check, finally finding the maturity to face his military training.
