Description:

Risako, a devoted mother to three-year-old Fumika and wife to Yoichiro, leads a seemingly content life. Her world is abruptly shaken when she receives a court notification, designating her as an alternate juror for a sensational criminal case. The defendant, Ando Mizuho, a housewife her own age, stands accused of a horrific crime: causing the death of her eight-month-old daughter by submerging her in a bathtub.

Initially, Risako, as a mother herself, feels a profound revulsion towards Mizuho, struggling to fathom such an act. However, as the trial progresses and the complex circumstances surrounding Mizuho's life come to light, Risako begins to experience a disquieting sense of déjà vu. Disturbing echoes of her own past, along with long-dormant chaotic feelings, resurface, blurring her perception of justice and forcing her to confront uncomfortable truths about motherhood, societal pressures, and the profound depths of human struggle.
