Description:

125 Years Memory is a powerful historical drama movie that explores the profound friendship between Japan and Turkey through two extraordinary true events. The first story takes place in September 1890, when the Turkish frigate Ertugrul sinks in a devastating typhoon off Kushimoto, Japan. Despite the tragic loss of over 500 lives, local Japanese residents launch a heroic rescue effort to save the surviving Turkish sailors. Nearly a century later in 1985, during the dangerous Iran-Iraq War, the bond is reciprocated. With over 300 Japanese nationals trapped in Tehran under the threat of sudden airstrikes, Turkey steps in. In a selfless act of courage, Turkey sends an evacuation airplane to rescue the stranded Japanese citizens, even though it means some of their own Turkish people must remain behind. This Japanese-Turkish co-production beautifully illustrates how compassion, courage, and humanity can bridge nations across generations.
