Homeland is a poignant drama centering on the life of Jiro Sawada. As a high school sophomore, Jiro Sawada was falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, prompting him to flee his hometown, a small village located in Fukushima Prefecture. Years of estrangement follow until the devastating 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami strike the region. In the aftermath of the disaster, the village is declared uninhabitable, leaving it completely abandoned. Defying the situation, Jiro Sawada decides to return to his deserted hometown and begins to live there again. However, his return acts as a catalyst for his scattered family members.
